The St Augustine United Premier program provides a progressive or systematic soccer training environment for U13 through U18 players who wish to compete at a higher level of play.
All players must attend tryouts in May to be eligible for United team play (see the tryout/registration section for more details). St Augustine United teams compete against premier and classic teams from other local clubs (Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Gainesville, southern Georgia) in the North Florida Youth Soccer League rotation and the competetion is at a higher level of play from the recreational teams. Some of our premier teams also compete in a variety of leagues to ensure that the level of competition is appropriate. These leagues include the Florida State League and the Super Y League. Practices are held twice a week with highly qualified coaches who have been selected by DOC Josh Braun for their playing and coaching experience, understanding of the game and the coaching licenses that they have obtained.
Although the number of practices a week is the same, the level of commitment is higher to ensure that your child is consistently placed in an environment to maximize their technical and tactical development. All Premier and Classic Teams will participate in the Labor Day Soccer Tournament in Jacksonville, may participate in Region Cup or State Cup in the Spring, and are encouraged to attend ACSC Summer Skills Camp as a team for specialized instruction. The St Augustine United Premier Program is a one year commitment.
St Augustine United Team Costs
Premier Uniform: $100- This includes two jerseys, two pairs of shorts and two pairs of socks. The club has also committed to pay for a portion of the premier uniforms and to provide each player on a St Augustine United team with two training shirts.
Training Fee: For Academy teams the cost is $120 for the year (both fall and spring) and for St Augustine United Teams (U13 teams and older), the cost is $180 for the year. The training fee allows Ancient City Soccer Club to hire first rate coaches to ensure proper development.
Tournament Costs: This will be dependent on each individual team and the number of tournaments that they attend throughout the year. Each team will attend at least one tournament a year as mentioned previously. The approximate cost for each tournament per family is $30.
